Karen’s civil litigation practice began in 1992, as an associate attorney at O’Connor Cavanagh. In 1996, she joined the Viad Corp Law Department where she reviewed, drafted and negotiated commercial and real estate contracts. Karen left Viad after five years to raise her three daughters, and to spend time volunteering in the Paradise Valley Unified School District on many levels: in the classroom, in the PTA, and on various district committees. For ten years, she has consulted for School Choice International, providing expertise to help families relocating both domestically and internationally choose the right schools for their children. In 2013, Karen returned to her legal practice at the Chernoff Law Firm in Scottsdale, focusing on commercial, real estate, and personal injury litigation.
Karen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona in 1989. She graduated from Arizona State University College of Law in 1992, where she served on the Environmental Law Moot Court Team. During law school, Karen interned for U.S. District Court Judge Earl H. Carroll. She is admitted in Arizona’s State and Federal Courts.
